Bhoomi, a young woman born and raised in the land of Gujarat is stepping into the happy and innocent world of matrimony. After a teary farewell to her family and friends, the love of her husband and a new life beckons. She embraces the bond of marriage with joy in her heart.

They say old bonds never die. She happily visits the land of her childhood to spend some days reliving old memories. Her family, her friends, her protective brother Gema, she is surrounded by love and care.
But one day tragedy strikes. Beera, the most evil dacoit ever born is on the prowl. And he has never known mercy. She has to make a perilous journey through the wicked wilderness of Kutchh. Her husband and his kingdom await. She makes the brave choice of crossing the dreaded desert in the darkness of the night.
Will Beera capture her?

What is it that breaks Bhoomi’s spirit so much that she turns from a simple woman to an avenging warrior?

CONCERT: From Classical Music to Flamenco

The Alliance française de Bangalore and the Bangalore School of Music invite you to an enchanting evening of dance and music – From Classical Music to Flamenco with Serge Lopez and Nathalie Marin.
Serge Lopez and Nathalie Marin met during a concert with the Symphony Orchestra of Cannes: they both wished to combine their respective music – flamenco and classical music. The colors and the very particular sound of flamenco guitar serve to the sensual music of Debussy, Ravel or Massenet fascinated by Spain and Andalusia. Serge Lopez also interprets compositions of his own repertoire, inspired from jazz and flamenco.

On the program:
Sous les nuages, Paseo en Cadix, Sur, Nomada, Barrio Latino , La Familia, Apallosa, Quisiera, compositions by Serge Lopez and Gymnopédie by Erik Satie, Pavane by Faure, Danse profane danse sacrée , ballade by Debussy, Habanera by Maurice Ravel…
Serge Lopez and Nathalie interpret this program mainly with symphonic orchestras but they also play itin duo piano guitar, in Tirana (Albania), Quito (Ecuador), la Habana (Cuba) and in France.
They recorded a cd “Danzas sinfonicas” with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador which will be on sale from January 2015.

Praise for the duo:
“Words could not express with enough power all the emotion, all the poetry which arise from the guitar and voices. Maturity is undeniable, delightful.” - Sur les rails
“Serge Lopez has the gift to switch from one atmosphere to another, while keeping a continuous unity which captures our attention from beginning to end. A great maturity.” - Antoi

Bhoomija Sammohanam.

Aruna Sairam (Carnatic singer) and Malavika Sarukkai (Bharatanatyam dancer) are two superstars in their fields. Both are veterans who have several decades of learning, dedicated sadhana, experimentation and innovations, and success under their belt.

They come together for a unique jugalbandi -- Aruna Sairam sings for Malavika Sarukkai -- in an aptly titled show, ""Sammohanam"". The coming together of two colossal talents is a rare event and Sammohanam is a beautifully thought-thru' and crafted piece. It is a rare treat for all the senses.
