MANYA HASTHAKALA 2014

The much-loved Manya Hasthakala‬, the arts and crafts exhibition is back for its 5th edition in Bangalore. Having enthralled art lovers in four successful editions, this time the exhibition is going to be in a bigger avatar at Chitrakala Parishath‬.

With over 130 artisans and craftsmen participating in the mega event, Manya Hasthakala 2014, inaugurated by South Indian actress Saakshi Agrawal, promises to be the perfect destination that portrays rich Indian art, handicraft‬ and culture.

The 11-day national level fair will feature collection of creations by various national and state awardees with products such as‪ ‎Kasuti‬Khadi‬Ikat‬Bandani‬chikan‬HandBlock‬,‪ Kalamkari‬, etc. from various Indian states. The specialty of this show would be the Live Demonstration of the Craft.

The national level fair will also include ‪‎bamboo art‬ and craft, exotic handloom sarees, tribal jewellery‬ and Jaipur jewellery‬, colourful paintings and environment friendly artefacts and home decor.
Manya, a non-profit organisation dedicated to women empowerment and encouraging women entrepreneurs, is the organizer of the event.

“The main aim of Manya Hastakala to provide support to artisans and women entrepreneurs. Through the years we have taken this exhibition around the country and promoted the unique ethnicity of our land,” Soni Nazre, the founder of Manya, said on the occasion of the inauguration.
The event will showcase vibrant and contemporary collection of creations by National & State awardees. One can find variety of products like Kasuti – Hubli , Khadi – Karnataka & WB, Banaras, Ikat – Odissa , Bandani- Gujarat, Lucknow chikan, Kashmiri work, Hand block from Rajasthan,Kalamkari – AP , Traditional Kanchi sarees Bengali Sarees. Jewelleries like Thread Jewellery, Meenakari, White metal, Bangara, Lac Bangles, Terracotta, Silver, Dokra , pearls and stone jewellery.

Apart from these one can also find Art work of ‪#‎Chitara‬ -Karnataka, Warli – Maharashtra, Madhubani – Bihar, ‪#‎Murals‬ -Kerala, Miniature – Rajasthan, Pattachittara‬ - Orissa, Pata – West Bengal, Gond – Madhya Pradesh, Bastar Metal craft – Chattisgarh, Chanapatna wood craft – Karnataka. Paper products, Tanjore paintings, Terra cotta products, Gleaming Brass Ware,beautiful wooden and Bamboo Furniture’s will also be showcased.

About Manya:
Manya‬ is a 9 year old NGO, which started off as a small venture to encourage and support women entrepreneurs. It has now metamorphosed as a registered non-profit organization which promotes marketing facilities for the welfare of the artisans & entrepreneurs of art & handicraft by conducting Craft Bazaars.
