My Child & I : In Memory of my Dear Grandmother

Mom is in the process of recovering from the loss of her dear maternal Grandmother.

Firstborn: "Amma! Why did you go out of town?"

Mom: "To say bye to Paati, who was going off to be with God"

Firstborn: "Why did she go to God?"

Mom: "She wanted to be peaceful"

Second born (listens carefully and brings a bag of green-Peas): "Amma, I will bring this Peas to Paati and she'll then come back, OK? "

Simply put by my little guy, it's Children who bring Peace and Love into this World- Let's keep it g (r) o(w) ing by not losing the child in each of us!

Tribute

Grandmothers are the blueprint of our own mothers - their love unbound and immeasurable.

My Grandmother was strong & open-hearted, truthful & outspoken, money-wise yet generous, well-read but religious and systematic & hardworking.

My tribute to my Grandmother will be to carry her memory lovingly forever in my heart and follow at least a few of her qualities throughout my life.

Love you forever, Aayal!

Great Advices from a Dog

Shared by a friend- wanted to pass on the joy!

If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back in the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout .... Run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
