Dancing Delightfully

Kuchipudi

‘Natyasaraswathi Kuchipudi Academy’ is presenting the 4th Akhila Karnataka Kuchipudi Nrithyotsav 2012 in the City. On March 3, 10 am to 1 pm, there will be
lecture-demonstrations at Ananya Sabhangana, Malleswaram.

From 5 pm to 9 pm, watch kuchipudi performances at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram. On March 4, from 9.30 am to 1 pm, there will be a kuchipudi dance workshop at Ananya Sabhangana, Malleswaram.

‘Sai Nrityotsav’


Sai Arts International is presenting Sai Nrityotsav 34 on March 1, 5.30 pm at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram.

‘Shakthi’


Nrithyanjali Trust presents Shakthi, a thematic dance presentation, by Anjali Santhosh and L Narendra Kumar of Anshuman Group from Chennai on March 4 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The programme will commence from 6 pm onwards.

Fine footwork

As part of ‘Every Friday Cultural Evening Programme’, a bharatanatyam duet dance recital by Priyatma Khincha and Aditha Prakash will be held on March 2 and Hindustani music vocal recital by Shashikala Gurv Kulhalli on March 9. Both the programmes will begin at 6.30 pm at Yavanika.

Complete treat

Around 30 musicians will grace the Unnati Centre during the cultural extravaganza of dance and music from March 4 to 11. In all, 11 concerts, four dance presentations, six music concerts will make up this series. The artistes who will be performing are Raghavendra Rao; Varadarangan, vocalist and musicologist; Ashwini Varaghur, Indian classical and Western classical flutist and composer; senior artiste Kalavathi Avadooth and Sumitra Vasudev. Some them will be paired with high-profile accompanists. Also, ‘Nritya Kalamandiram’ will present Bharatanjali under the guidance of Bhanumathi. Kuchipudi dance exponent Prateeksha Kashi will also be performing.

‘Vilasininatyam’

Kalasindhu Academy of Dance and Related Arts will present Vilasininatyam concert by Swapna Sundari on March 3, 6 pm at Shivarathreeshwara Centre, Ist Main, 8th Block, Jayanagar. For details, call 9900579347.

‘Rangapravesha’

Bharatanatyam rangapravesha of Smrthi M Hariths, a disciple of Vasundhara Sampath Kumar, will be held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on March 3. The programme will commence from 6.30 pm.

Bharatanatyam

Deepta Seshadri, a student of Ashok Kumar of ‘Natyanjali School of Dance’, is presenting a bharatanatyam performance at the Indian Institute of World
Culture, B P Wadia Road, Basavanagudi on March 4, 6 pm.
