Do you imagine yourself carrying an umbrella made of coir? Or how about wearing footwear and jackets made out of coir? You can also replace your old furniture with coir sofas.
These are some of the attractions at the four-day Karnataka Coir Expo 2013 that was inaugurated on Saturday at Palace Grounds. Organised by the Coir Board, the expo features coir products on sale by various State and Central government coir undertakings.
Besides exhibition, there will be national level seminars, workshops for homemakers on the awareness of using coir in kitchen garden, home garden, roof top cultivation, market development programme and daily cultural programme etc.
