‘Bangalore Fictions’
‘Bangalore Fictions’ by ‘N+N Corsino’, will be presented by the Alliance Française in association with Galleryske, The Embassy of France in India and the Institut Français at Galleryske, 2, Berlie Street, Langford Town, till March 21. It is an interactive choreographic navigation by ‘N+N Corsino’ that has been created in India and France. Based on the principle of a graphic novel, texts and images blend together in a narrative process and construct an imagination of body movements. Choreography and direction are by Nicole Corsino and Norbert Corsino. The dancers are Revanta Sarabhai, Pooja Purohit. Music is by Jacques Diennet. The musicians are Jayan Nair, Rajesh Parichipully, T Palanivelu, Manikanthan and Shajeesh Rajan. The translations are by Neelabh Ahsk, Usha Rau, Pravin Pandya and Jean Poncet.

Nrityagram is conducting a residential culture camp for youngsters from April 22 to 28. It will have dance, theatre, yoga, body conditioning, Kalaripayattu, nature walks, bird watching etc modelled on the guru-shishya parampara. It will be conducted by Bijayini Satpathy, a performer and teacher at Nrityagram and Atul Kumar. Bijayini, trained in Odissi, has been a resident student and teacher at Nrityagram for the last 20 years. She has also trained in chhau, kalaripayattu and aikido. Atul Kumar is an actor, stage director and the artistic director of The Company Theatre, Mumbai. He is trained in kathakali and kalaripayattu and in visual theatre with Philip Genty in France. M A Narasimhachar Music Foundation is holding a Carnatic classical vocal concert on March 24, 5.45 pm at The Indian Institute of World Culture, BP Wadia Road, Basavanagudi.
The artistes who will be performing are Madhu R Kashyap (vocal), Sindhu Suchethan (violin), N G Ravi (mridangam) and M Gururaj (morching).

The band Lo Griyo will present a concert on March 21, 7.30 pm at Alliance Francaise. Lo Griyo hails from Reunion Island and is led by multi-instrumentalist Sami Pageaux Waro. Performing on acoustic instruments (percussions, kora, reeds and flutes), using auto-looping and effects such as dub effects, tube-screamers, auto-wah, triggers, Lo Griyo represents a gateway between tradition and modernity. The band will provide glimpses of trance, Maloya, Gnawa music and music from Mali and Madagascar as well as jazz and electro. Entry is free.
Easter special The ‘2013 Glorious Easter Concerts’ will be held on March 23, 6.30 pm at Richmond Town Methodist Church, Kingston Road, Richmond Town and on March 24, 6.30 pm at East Parade CSI Church, MG Road. The soloists include Michelle Khiangte, Kaavya Chandy, Karun Chandy, Daniel Karthik, Junior Bay, Ruth Cherian, Janet Varghese, Vihan Damaris, Laetitia Tony, Joel Jacob, Joby and Reji Chandy.
The special feature of the concerts will be the debut by the ‘100 Voice Glorious Children’s Choir’.
