Stand-up: Barking Mad 7

Organised every year around the 20th of March, which is the « International Francophonie day », this event is the annual rendez-vous of the lovers of French language across the world.
“Tell me ten words … in the French language”: the wealth of French regionalisms
This new edition celebrates the varieties of French. If there is only one French language shared by 274 million speakers worldwide, this one is rich in the diversity of its expressions.
The ten chosen words invite us to explore the French spoken in the different territories of the Francophonie: in France « chafouin » and « fada», in Québec « poudrerie » and « dépanneur », in Belgium « lumerotte » and «dracher », in Switzerland « ristrette » and « vigousse », in Haïti « tap-tap » and in Congo « champagné ». More info on “Dis-moi dix mots” website.
The Alliance Francaise de Bangalore will offer, through range of events such as concerts and film screenings, and contests with exciting prizes to be won, the occasion to discover and share the specificities of French languages from different French-speaking countries through literature, music, games and other surprises.
Through the week, there will be a mural placed in the lobby where students and the public are invited to write/draw/express themselves around the 10 words for 2016.
All week:
  • 10 words mural in the lobby – Starting the 1st of March
