Bimba: The Art Hut & Rasalok
Bimba - The Art Hut in Jayanagar is a campus for art lovers. This store was founded by Deepak and Deepika Dorai in Chennai and was brought to Bangalore in 2006. In their own words :
The Art Hut houses handmade creations for all who would be proud to own, use, decorate, display, wear or gift these one-of-a-kind items. Several media (Cotton, handmade paper, stone, ceramics, pottery, terracota, jute, etched glass, metal, cane etc.,) and their aesthetic combination enhances the versatility of the range on display which includes : Art Objects, Designer Furniture and Furnishing, exclusive clothes and accessories for all and much more.
Bimba in Basavanagudi also conducts RASALOK, a still theater programme every weekend. This form of art form is founded by Deepika’s mother, Smt. Uma Nagaraj.
It’s a three-dimensional still theatre in miniature art form. A spectacular visual concept that mesmerises adults and children alike, the earthy handmade small theatre with its tiny life-like characters is performed every year in an open courtyard with an antique (100yr old) building as backdrop at the Bimba Art Hut in Basavanagudi.
Every Navarathri, they bring out a new story from the Puranas and the new work, which takes months to prepare, is unveiled.

Bangalore Restaurant Week 2011
Calling all foodies! Bangalore finally has its own Restaurant Week and it starts from September 19 – 25. Here’s your chance to devour some delightfully delicious meals, which otherwise would come at a heavy price, at discounted rates.
Seven of Bangalore's fine-dining restaurants will be offering guests a fixed, three-course menu for 1000 rupees ($21) per person, taxes excluded.
