39th Annual Cake Show

The annual cake exhibition is all set to enchant Bangaloreans with some truely wonderful creations.

 A majestic charminar 18 feet tall and 22 feet in length and breadth is set to leave the visitors with awe. Sculpted with 5 tons of sugar, several kilograms of cream and hundreds of eggs, it is a creation that has evolved with 40 bakers working for over 60 days..

A die hard fan of Sachin Tendulkar, the 74 year old master Baker C Ramachandran has paid special tributes to the master by creating his life size idol, all in cake and cream. The grace and stature of the idol would rival the one made with wax at Madam Tussaud’s in London.

I Love Indiranagar Christmas Carnival

 

‘I Love Indiranagar’ in association with ‘Indiranagar Club’ has organized a Christmas Carnival on Dec 15th from 12noon to 6pm at the club premises. 

The carnival will showcase close to 25 stalls, all offering very creative products; colorful, interesting and a range that would be breathe taking for one and all!! The highlight of the event is the ‘Kiddies Corner’ that’s being set up. A section where you can be sure of your child having one of the most delightful experience ever!! Lots of fun filled activities have been lined up there along with happy Santa cheering them up!! To add to the excitement and boost up the atmosphere, we will have with us a live band singing all the right tunes to accelerate the festive mood!! And for those of you who love to indulge in some mouth watering food, we have our experts serving you yummy bites at their food stalls!!

At the annual cake exhibition, of course.    Several imaginatively crafted cakes and sugar craft are on display at the 38th Annual Cake Exhibition at the St. Joseph’s Indian High School Grounds. Fifty people laboured over the 16-foot Pentagon for 30,000 hours or 60 days, using 5 tonnes of sugar. Lakshman Kanti, a baker, whose group has made six wedding cakes, sugar models of cuckoo clocks, pagodas and clowns, says that participating in an event like this is “really an honour”. After the exhibition, organisers said, the sugar models are melted and donated to factories and to the needy. The exhibition is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. till December 30. Entry Rs. 49 per person.

The OWC Christmas Bazaar is a family affair, so bring the kids for photos with Santa, to enjoy the face painting, crafts and games at the BIS Kid’s Corner or simply to enjoy the day’s Stage entertainment.

Our favorite restaurants are setting up stalls and there is plenty of seating. Pop in for a quick bite, or stay for a while. The members of the OWC and our friends have been busy and fantastic cakes, cookies, bars, and scrumptious baked goods will be available at the OWC Bake Sale.
