Hanuman cleverly contrives to be imprisoned to fulfill the Mission he sets out on. 
Solo classical artist Deepika Dorai, her handmade still miniature moment and theatre in a minitheatre room transports us to a world of Rasa.

Bimba The Art Ashram is located at 42 ratnavilas road /opp Canara Bank DVG road/Basavanagudi Bengaluru 4. Here we practice handmade earth sensitive art as daily practice. Some Creations you can take home. The Aangana ,  Bimba The Art Hut( in an over 100 year old building) on this space for contemplative creativity and its surroundings, many creations inside are the handwork of founder artist Deepika Dorai
The Aangana is a breathtaking open courtyard surrounded by spaces that house intimate theatre rooms, stages architected and handmade by founder-artist Deepika Dorai – it has inspired many and been witness to a live, always open-to-all, masterly performances .
Every Navarathri, The Aangana comes alive with a new Rasalok moment handcreated  and performed by a solo artist. Rasalok solo still theatre of miniature art  is performed live 3 times all days during the 10 day festival. This picturesque theatre- its miniature art is then performed in the mini-theatres as part of the weekly offering Every Saturday thereafter.On some Saturdays  we are inspired by a performance by a Master of an art/ innovative lifestyle form

Hand carved and beautifully costumed wooden puppets will depict the adaptation
to Mysore court style puppet theatre  the classical  Kuchipudi dance based

Puppet Course at Dhaatu

Ages 7 and above
Every week - Saturday at 3:30 pm and Sunday 8:30 am
Duration -1 hour
The course will be continuous and aims at teaching concepts of traditional puppetry and performance.
The classes will be divided into junior and senior. This is designed to be a six year course. The next level will be for four more years.
Classes begin on Sat, 18th Jan 2014
  Admission fee is Rs. 1000/- and a monthly fee of Rs. 500 will be charged for beginners.

Drawing workshops for children

The Big Draw is a drawing event that is run across the UK and in fifteen other countries, with more than 200,000 people of all ages joining in 1000+ events. Hundreds of enjoyable drawing activities connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists and each other. These events are for those who love to draw, as well as for those who think they can’t! Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw has successfully supported the Campaign for Drawing’s aims by encouraging everyone to draw. Big Draw events highlight the power of drawing to help people see, think, invent and take action. 2014 will see The Big Draw working in partnership with the Family Arts Festival for a second year to create the largest family arts festival in the UK.

Story telling through drawing
We all have an inherent tendency to graphically or pictorially express ourselves. It is a fundamental human urge that can be developed by doing; everybody can draw. Through these workshops, participants explore drawing with other parents and children. They will explore basic mark making to graphic or pictorial representations through various mediums and processes, to tell their stories and express themselves.

Participants explore and play with the immediacy and chance of ink as a medium to make marks and images that trigger the imagination to tell stories.

Stories though Tracing and Layering
Participants explore a process of tracing and layering images construct their images to tell stories.

January 19, 2014, Sunday
Stories with Black and White, Dark and Light
Participants experiment with contrasts and shadows to make images that tell their stories.

February 1, 2014, Saturday
Stories through Patterns and Textures
Participants explore how the use of patterns and textures aid visual variety and charm in bringing character to their images to tell stories.

February 8, 2014, Saturday
Stories Objects tell
Participants explore the process of taking inspiration from everyday objects to re-imagine and narrate stories from their associations/ experiences.

Eligibility:                   8 - 10 years
No. of seats:              20 (Each participant must be accompanied by a parent)
Fee:                             Rs.750/- per workshop (inclusive of material cost)
