Israeli Film Festival 2015

The Israeli Film Festival will be held in the city from August 14 to August 27, 2015. The films will be screened at Alliance Française, Bangalore International Center and Suchitra Film Society.

 The entry is free for all the screenings (except 13th Aug- Which is by invitation only).
 All films at the festival are in Hebrew with English subtitles.

ABAI Fest 2015: Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics film festival

 ABAI Fest – India’s biggest Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics film festival held annually in Karnataka, India with the support of Government of Karnataka is a confluence of Indian and Global Digital art industry. Fest is an ideal platform for artists from various backgrounds across the globe to come together to celebrate the art of digital storytelling and exchange ideas. ABAI Fest 2015 is scheduled to be held on 6th, 7th and 8th of February 2015 at Hotel Taj West End, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This edition of Fest will witness contests with international participation, workshops, film screenings, Best of content from best of the film festivals from various countries and Game zones.

 

Bal Bhavan Bannada Chittegalu

Starting this Saturday (January 31), award-winning children movies handpicked from different countries will be screened at the Bal Bhavan auditorium at Cubbon Park in the City. Titled ‘Bannada Chittegalu’ (Colourful Butterflies), the festival aims at encouraging people, especially, tiny tots, to learn about the cultures of different countries. The films will be screened every Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm.

Some of the movies that would be shown during the weekend festival includes Taina (Brazil), Cindrella Moon (China), Alegalu (India), Children of Heaven (Iran), Blue Tiger (Czech Republic), In the name of Sherlock Homes (Hungary), Inuk (Greenland), Clara and the secret of the Bears (Australia), Kafal (India) among others. The first movie that would be screened on January 31 is ‘Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya,’ directed by Shilpa Ranade.

The duration of the movies run between 11 minutes and 99 minutes. There would be English subtitles provided for the international movies for the benefit of the audience.

My French Film Festival

MyFrenchFilmFestival.com is an innovative concept the goal of which is to showcase the young generation of French filmmakers and enable Internet users all over the whole to share their love of French cinema. For its 5th edition, the festival returns with new films, new partner platforms, and launches in theatres in several territories.
Alliance française de Bangalore will organise a screening of selected films in the auditorium. Schedule can be found below.
From 16 January to 16 February 2015 film buffs all over the world will be able to access all the films proposed by the 5th edition of the on-line French film festival. As an avant-première, all the shorts can be seen free of charge on 21 December 2014 as part of the "Shortest Day", in celebration of short films.
All of the shorts are free of charge, worldwide. Each year, the festival is free in certain territories. This year in: China, India, Latin America, Poland, Russia and Turkey.

Centenary of Indian Cinema - A program of Music and Dance from Indian Films

It all began a 100 years ago…! It is today difficult or next to impossible for most cinema enthusiasts to envisage Indian cinema without music and dance! On the occasion of World Music day, the Alliance Française de Bangalore pays homage to Indian Cinema with a screening of song and dance sequences chosen from various Indian films. These scenes form an integral component of Indian Cinema and are inspired quite often by Indian classical dance forms. Mr. V A K Ranga Rao, a connoisseur of film history and its documentation whose radio and television programs have underlined the importance of documenting and archiving popular performing arts, will present interesting and valuable insights during this musical evening. Dances from various regional films will then take center stage to highlight culture and ethos of this country. The International Arts and Cultural Foundation will organize the dance performances which will feature the following dance schools: Articulate, Chithkala School of Dance, Natyantharanga, Monisha Arts, Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance and Vaishnavi Natyashala
