K-Pax English Comedy Play Presented by Tahatto
18th to 20th March 2016 at Jagriti Theatre
K-Pax, based on the novel ‘On a beam of light’, is a science-fiction psychological drama that explores human acceptance and how rigidly we hold on to our notions – scientific, moral and spiritual, without allowing space to question those very beliefs. The story is set in a mental institution whose newest patient claims to be an alien from the planet K-Pax. Although the initial prognosis is that he may be living with schizophrenia and multiple-personality syndrome, the story teases without taking a clear stance, nudging the viewer to make for herself/himself if the patient is indeed an alien. Or not. More than being about the possibility of intelligent alien life, the play explores the meaning of believing – in empathy, in acceptance and beyond all, in magic.
PLAY - I LOVE YOU, LET'S HAVE SEX
I LOVE YOU, LET’S HAVE SEX is an entertaining, quirky and
fun play that offers some real insights into relationships. Using an innovative
and interactive format, the script follows the lives of ‘Nidhi’ and ‘Vishal’
over what could be the period of one exciting evening or a number of years,
while they struggle to make sense of themselves and each other. Keeping their
sense of humour alive through thick and thin, the couple are determined to
reach a ‘happy ending’, even if that means breaking the ‘fourth wall’ to get
the help they need!
The play opened at the Delhi Contemporary Arts Festival to
hugely positive response and has since then played across the country at venues
as diverse as various independent performing spaces, at bars and pubs, as part
of a therapist’s workshop session, at a conference, a community centre and even
on invitation to a wedding celebration party!
Recognizing the universality of the content, the actors find
ways in which to interact with the audience directly – leading to improvised
audience involvement, some real ‘aha’ moments and more than a little madness!
The play offers insights into how relationships work and
changes we can make as individuals to help find connection and empathy with
each other.

of French language across the world.
“Tell me ten words … in the French language”: the wealth of French regionalisms
This new edition celebrates the varieties of French. If there is only one French language shared by 274 million speakers worldwide, this one is rich in the diversity of its expressions.

Organised
every year around the 20th of March, which is the « International
Francophonie day », this event is the annual rendez-vous of the lovers
of French language across the world.
“Tell me ten words … in the French language”: the wealth of French regionalisms
This new edition celebrates the varieties of French. If there is only one French language shared by 274 million speakers worldwide, this one is rich in the diversity of its expressions.
The ten chosen words invite us to explore the French spoken in the different territories of the Francophonie: in France « chafouin » and « fada», in Québec « poudrerie » and « dépanneur », in Belgium « lumerotte » and «dracher », in Switzerland « ristrette » and « vigousse », in Haïti « tap-tap » and in Congo « champagné ». More info on “Dis-moi dix mots” website.
