From September 8 to 18, (10am - 7pm) Bangalore will reverberate with one of the biggest art shows in the history of the city. Art Manpho 2011 a promotional event will feature some of the best sculptors of the country with their magical works, alongside other art forms such as wood craft, mural paintings, metal art and
the like.
Artists from various parts of the country will descend at Manpho Convention Centre, Opposite BEL Corporate Office, Nagwara, to showcase not just their workmanship, but also to continue the rich Indian tradition of art and sculpture which dates back to Indus Valley Civilization.
The highlight of the 10 day art extravaganza will be the presence of a large number of talented artists and art forms including the traditional dance performances. One of the objectives of Art Manpho 2011 is to preserve, protect, develop and exhibit such art forms and artists to the world. On display at the Show will be stone sculpture from Karnataka , Khurja pottery from Jaipur, Terracotta from Tamilnadu and Karnataka, metal and brass works , Murals , Paintings , crafts from the North East and several other States.
Art Manpho will also provide a connectivity to the manufacturers of materials related to art works; exporters; technology providers to help monetize the art works and a platform for the amateur artists too.
The concept of Art Manpho 2011 is to create an awareness amongst the younger generation to recognise the depth of our Indian Art & Cultural which is well appreciated across the world.
Another feature of the show, according to the organizers is providing free stall space to the artisans to exhibit their products and also demonstrate the art .
