The fourth edition of BioFach India 2012 is expected to attractvisitors from production, manufacturing, trade and services and it is the single largest platform where stake-holders in the organic value chain congregate to network.
For the first time, BioFach India together with India Organic will have a dedicated “consumer connect corner” within the fair and is organised in collaboration with The Alternative, an online media platform focused on sustainable living.
This year’s event, said to be the biggest expo in the organic sector, will showcase leading global brands in the organic industry. It will have 141 stalls, including those of 16 international exhibitors.
The consumer connect corner will engage panelists comprising doctors, nutritionists and food experts on the benefits of organic food. Scientists and experts from agriculture universities will conduct workshops to help farmers, interested in organic farming, gain practical knowledge. Further, school children will be exposed to the goodness of organic food through a series of programmes.
School Connect Program will be initiated with Film screening, Quiz contest and Discussion to engage students and raise awareness about good and healthy eating. In addition there will be Organic Food Festival, Cooking Demos, food tasting sessions. Visitors can indulge in sumptuous and healthy organic food & can get firsthand experience of interactive activities like food tasting sessions and cooking demos that can be easily adopted in everyday life.
A cooking demonstration and food festival will also be held during the fair to make the public aware about organic food, its benefits and how they could prepare it on a daily basis.
The main attraction of this year’s fair will be official pavilion from Germany. Many national & international exhibitors, state government pavilions and a large number of exhibitors across the globe have confirmed their participation.
There will be an international seminar on topics related to organic farming and agriculture and various eminent speakers are expected to take part.
BioFach India will provide an opportunity for organic
food lovers to relish their favourite dishes at the organic food
festival being held as part of the trade fair.
The
event would showcase an organic food recipe contest involving 30
home-makers. These recipes range from traditional foods to modern
preparations. Visitors would be allowed to taste these preparations.
Nutritionists and medical experts would provide health tips with respect
to these products. A quiz contest and various seminars would be held as
part of the trade fair, according to the organisers.
Entry for the public would be free from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., while the trade is open for trade visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
