Fine comedy
‘Chapter 2’, by Neil Simon, will be staged on November 24 and 25 at Alliance Francaise. ‘Chapter Two’ is one of Neil Simon’s finest comedies and is an autobiographical peek into Neil Simon’s coming to terms with the death of his wife which was followed by his love affair and subsequent marriage to actress Marsha Mason.

‘Saltbush’
‘Saltbush — Children’s Cheering Carpet’, an Australian theatre performance for children, will be staged at the Ranga Shankara till November 23. ‘Saltbush’ is an educational performance piece presented through the use of a touch-sensitive floor and infra-red imaging technology that triggers images and sound.

Banyan Tree’s annual sufi and mystic music festival Ruhaniyat will be held on December 15 at Jayamahal Palace. Those will be performing include Tannouras, the Dancing Dervishes of Egypt; ‘Polyphony’, with an inbuilt ‘Voice of Angels’ by singers from Bulgaria, an instrumental ensemble of sufiana maqams by musicians of Egypt and Rajasthan; ‘Whirling Dervishes’ of Turkey, Sufi qawwali by qawwals from Pakistan.

‘Harmonica Day’
November 22 is observed as the ‘Indian Harmonica Day’ and on this occasion, the Bangalore Harmonica Club, in association with Sonido Musicals, is holding a meet for all harmonica lovers. ‘Aagomon’
Palashpriya Ghosh is presenting an exhibition of her art works, Aagomon, till November 23 at Chitrakala Parishat. The exhibition will continue for a duration of seven days.

‘Invoking Justice’
‘Invoking Justice’, a film, will be screened at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) on November 23, 6 pm. The film by Deepa Dhanraj tells the complex story of the inspired challenge posed by the women’s jamaat to a corrupt judicial system. This screening is open to all and will be followed by a discussion with the film-maker. The screening is part of a series of documentary screenings that will be held every alternate Friday. British Library, in association with Toto Funds the Arts, is holding a reading-cum-launch of Randhir Khare’s latest novel ‘Walking through Fire’ and Athena Kashyap’s first volume of poetry ‘Crossing Black Waters’ on November 23, 6.30 pm.
