Alliance
Francaise-Ashish Khohar's Dance DIScourse's 2nd event of 2013 focuses
on bringing two divergent forms together. The idea is to see
commonalities and meeting points. A must see for all who find Indian
forms vastly varying. Ace historian-presenter will again help
contextualize and present this episode of Dance DISCourse. Open to all
and new members to Dance History Society are welcome to register (form
or www.attendance-india.com). The evening begins with a film on dance, not to be missed at 6.00 pm
Indian
classical dance is a poetic expression of life’s variegated moods and
speaks through manifold rhythmic patterns, melodic gestures and subtle
facial expressions, creating a world of ecstasy and ethereal existence.
To share the same experience two renowned professional dancers of
Karnataka, Anuradha Vikranth and Shama Krishna, come together to present
‘Nrityamilana’ a jugalbandi of two beautiful classical dance forms,
Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi.
