Haiku, a type of poetry from the Japanese culture, written generally about nature, feelings and experiences, containing 17 syllables in just three lines of poetry, will take center stage. The Haiku evening, organized by Lotus and Chrysanthemum, in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Bangalore, will include Haiku recitation in various languages and more importantly, a book launch. “The Art of Creating Haiku” written by Dr Mohammed Fakhruddin will be released by Shri Chiranjiv Singh, President of the Alliance Française de Bangalore.

Editor of ‘Poets International, the author, Dr. Fakhruddin who is considered the father of Haiku in the sub-continent, is also the President of Haiku Society of India. He is a writer and publisher of 21 books on poetry and poetics and recipient of many national and international awards.

A display of Ohara Ikebana that highlights ‘landscape arrangement’ style, organized by the Lotus and Chrysanthemum will only add to the magic and the beauty of this evening.
