Kalki's magnum opus 'Sivagamiyin Sabadham' will be presented by Dancer-Composer Madurai R.Muralidharan and his team on March 24, 6.00 p.m. at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore.
Guru Muralidharan joins forces with percussionist D.A.Srinivas for this production that is about the struggle for supremacy between the Chalukya Emperor, Pulikesi II,and the Pallava King, Mahendra Varmar and later his son Narasimha Varmar. The team includes Padmavasan (Art Director), over 10 Professional Singers including Malayalam Music Director Sharreth,Singer Ananthu and Kalpana,over 50 professional Dancers,10 Theatre Artistes, 15 Material Art Experts and 20 Folk Artistes. The digitally recorded music has accompanists including D.A.Srinivas (Mridangam), Punya Srinivas (Veena) and Balasai (Flute).
Three dancers - S.Ananya, M.Kavya Lakshmi and Uma Murali - will portray Sivagami, from a young girl to avwoman. While 21 characters in the novel will appear on stage, Muralidharan will play the dual roles of Pulikesi and his twin brother Naganandhi.
