In an attempt to bring back forgotten memories and time, city based
Hometown Productions has organized a unique cultural extravaganza called
Haveli on April 26, 2013 in Chowdaiah Memorial Hall at 6.30 pm.
13 well known artists from all over the country will perform in one stage at time.
The show will recreate the scenic Haveli on a stage. Bollywood music composer and violinist Deepak Pandit is the music composer. Odissi dancer Arushi Mudgal, Kathak dancer Rajendra Gangani, vocalist and Sarangi player Ustad Fayaz Khan, Sitarist brothers Rafique and Shafique Khan, Raman a Saxophonist, Drummer Stanley Jeoraj, a renowned French basist/ pianist Mishko M'Ba, Tabla player Pt Arvind Kumar Azad, a Grammy awardee Khartal player Dewo Khan, Kamaiacha players Ghenwar Khan and Dare Khan are some of the well known artists who will enthrall audience in ‘Haveli'.
"Haveli is a place of tranquility and beauty where decadence and indulgence reigns supreme. We have taken the spirit and ethos of Haveli and channeling it into our show" says actress Bhavana, the creative head of Hometown Productions.
The concept: Those were the days.... Where huge joint families lived together with bunch of children playing around, older people having leisure time and women dressed up with lot of hand crafted gold jewellery and draped with delicate fall of silk shiffons.
Many servants moving around busy with their work allotted, midst of all these, Havelis would echoed the sound of ghungaru and in dept tunes of Sarangi, playing along with Tabla.
Yes. Those wealthy Zamindars would appreciate and also spend humongous amount of wealth for music and dance. Jalak of mujuras and sharies were among the popular once. Now across the part of North India those Havelies stand quietly setting an example of time which spent elaborately during those days by the families of those graceful wealthy zamindars.
