Chinna Kalanadam 2013

 


The Narthana Academy of Dance and Music or NADAM founded by Nandini K Mehta and Murali Mohan Kalva hosts this festival as an opportunity and stepping stone for young dancers.

Day 1:  Fri 05 Jul

Prateeksha Hugar, 6:00PM
Prateeksha Hugar will present a short sitar recital along with accompanists.
Bharatanatyam, 6:30 PM
 
The young performing unit of NADAM will present a short presentation of items.
Odissi, 6:45PM
Students of Odissi Dance Centre, will present a couple of short group items.
Bharatanatyam, 7:00PM
Dancer-choreographer Anil V Iyer’s students will present short items.
Kathak, 7:15PM
Kathak duo Nirupama Rajendra and Rajendra TD will present students from the Abhinava Dance School.
Kuchipudi 7:30PM
Students from Lasya Lahari will present a selection of works.
Bharatanatyam, 7:45PM
Madhulita Mohapatra’s students from Nrityantar Academy of Performing Arts will present a short Odissi recital.
 Day 2:  Fri 06 Jul

BP Aditi, 6:00PM
Carnatic vocalist BP Aditi, a student of Kamal Kumar, will present a short recital along with accompanists as part of the Chinna Kalanadam, a festival for young artists, organised by the Narthana Academy for Dance and Music.
Bharatanatyam, 6.30PM
Dancer-choreographer Prasanna Kasthuri will present his students from the St Louis-based dance school, Soorya Dance Company.
Kathak, 6.45PM
Students of Nandini K Mehta and Murali Mohan will present a selection of short kathak items.
Kuchipudi, 7:00PM
Young students from Manju Bhargavi’s school Natya Vedam will present a selection of kuchipudi items.
Bharatanatyam, 7.15PM
Tushar and Pooja Bhatt will present young students from their dance company in a short kathak recital.
Odissi, 7.30PM
Sharmila Mukerjee, artistic director of Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance, will present her students in a short performance.
Kalaripayattu, 7.45PM
The students of Parashurama Vallabhatta Kalari Academy who have been training with Krishna Pratap will present a short kalari demonstration.
Bharatanatyam, 8PM
Dancer-choreographer Anuradha Vikranth’s students from the Drishti Art Centre will present a short bharatanatyam recital.
