Sophia High School is all set to stage the musical ‘The Alternative Snow White’, a humourous take on the legendary fairy tale ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ on August 16, 17 and 18 at the Sophia School Auditorium. This musical extravaganza is being directed by Ashley Williams. This is an improved production with choreography by V Ganesh. To offer support to this team are the former students helping with the choreography, costumes, choir, sets and make-up. Photo exhibition
As part of its participation in ‘Voices from the Waters’, the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is collaborating with City-based water researcher and writer S Vishwanath and documentary photographer Vivek Muthuramalingam who will curate a photo exhibition at the Goethe gallery. The theme this year is Namma Ooru - Namma Neeru and will focus on the symbiotic relationship between lakes and open wells in and around Bangalore. The deadline for applications is August 16. The exhibition opens on August 30.

Moonlight Theatre and Eblitz Creations Pvt Ltd are organising the ‘Indian Independent Film Festival’ (TIIFF) from August 15 to 17 at Freedom Park. The festival will showcase the works of young and talented film-makers from across the world. It will include full-length feature films, short films, documentaries, and award-winning feature films, besides a workshop on film-making and scripting. There will be over 50 films from India, Pakistan, UK, Australia, Greece, Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago by independent film-makers.
