Kalayan Theatre Group is presenting Usne Kaha Tha at Alliance Francaise on October 5 (5.30 pm and 7.30 pm) and October 6 (3.30 pm, 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm). The story is by Chandradhar Sharma Guleri and the playwright and director is Mathura Kalauny.

Beautiful mix Ed DeGenaro’s ‘Elektrik Circus!’ will be presented on September 27, 8.30 pm at Bflat, Indiranagar. It will have Ed DeGenaro (guitar), Ujjayinee Roy DeGenaro (vocals), Neil Smith (drums), Wayne Fernandez (bass) and Anthony Karuna (keyboard).
Edward DeGenaro is a fusion guitarist and master shredder from Germany/Los Angeles.

The 25th edition of Ashish Mohan Khokar’s ‘Dance DISCourse’ will be held at Alliance Francaise on September 28, 6.30 pm. Sharmila Mukherjee, Gayatri Ranbir and Meghna Das will perform dance pieces composed by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Guru Debaprasad Das and Guru Mayadhar Raut. The evening will also feature odissi dancer Madhulita Mohapatra and her students from Nrityantar.
The evening will begin with the screening of a rare film from ‘The Mohan Khokar Dance Archives’ on Orissa temples and sculptures, capturing the history, evolution and the journey of the beautiful dance. The programme will conclude with an interactive academic question-answer session with the audience.

‘Essence of Life - A Revolution in Dance and Music’, a dance and music show, will be held on September 28, 6 pm at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. It will showcase the insights and the unique approach of Jiddu Krishnamurti through dance and music. Literature fest
The ‘Bangalore Literature Festival’ will be held at Crowne Plaza, Electronic City from September 27 to 29. Five contemporary literary greats from Germany, including German-pop-poetry-pioneer Bas Böttcher, authors like Tilman Rammstedt, Abbas Khider, Christopher Kloeble and Saskya Jain, will be participating. The range of events that these writers will participate include poetry slam, panel discussions, book launch, face-to-face interactions, question-and-answer-sessions, workshops for children, book display.
Two German books translated into English by Seagull Publishers, Kolkata through the Goethe-Institut Global Translation Grant Programme will be released at the festival in the presence of the authors and publisher. These are ‘The Village Indian’ (Der falsche Inder) by Abbas Khider and ‘The Emperor of China’ (Der Kaiser von China) by Tilman Rammstedt.
