Celebrity chef and food writer Karen Anand brings to Bangalore the
first of its kind premium Farmers’ Market after ten successful Farmers’
Markets in Pune, Delhi and Mumbai that saw a variety of restaurants,
world-class natural products and dozens of avid home bakers and amateur
chefs, wineries and 30,000+ visitors to date.
Karen Anand and her team will bring the unique experience to Bangalore on Sunday, March 2nd in the Lush Lawns of The Hotel Royal Orchid (1 Golf Avenue, Adjoining KGS Golf Course, Airport Road) from 11 to 7 pm.
The Bangalore Farmers’ Market (BFM) will bring together exhibitors selling an array of products from organic fresh produce, cheese, meats, sauces, preserves along with a curated and specially selected set of wineries, bars, bakers and restaurants.
The Weber Picnic BBQ will encourage you to select your own vegetables, meat with marinades and grill their own BBQ feasts while your kids will be looked after in our kid's cookery workshop area. In addition to restaurants from The Royal Orchid, you can also sample gourmet ice creams from Amadora, Chennai, farm to table tapas from Brick lane Grill & Coorg specialties and passion fruit from the girls at Pig Out amongst others.
BFM is the perfect opportunity to spend a Sunday, leisurely enjoying a picnic, walking around the gorgeous lawns eating, drinking, learning and meeting other food & drink enthusiasts. Most importantly you can shop from 40 exhibitors selling everything from plants and kitchenware, meats & cheeses, new gourmet products, vegetables and fruit vendors and some of the city’s best bakers and dessert makers selling their freshly baked breads, cakes, muffins, cupcakes, macaroons and other goodies. It is the perfect opportunity to familiarize your self with a market that represents sustainability, quality food, drink and lifestyle while entertained by a live band all afternoon.
After years of pioneering effort in the gourmet and health space, the concept of the ‘Farmers Market’ was but a natural progression for Karen Anand. It also seemed the perfect timing to do this in India with more public awareness towards sustainable sourcing and the socio economic benefits of buying local produce.
‘Sustainability’ and ‘farm to table’ is the focus of all our markets and I am especially excited about doing one in Bangalore since such concepts are intrinsic to the city of Bangalore and it’s rich culture.
We look forward to seeing you at the BFM on Sunday March 2nd between 11am – 7 pm at The Royal Orchid.
