Classic Incantations: German Film Orchestra performs A.R Rahman

Babelsberg and Indian Cinema – Celebrating the Legacies

The German Film Orchestra Babelsberg with over a hundred musicians will perform orchestral interpretations of symphonic highlights from A.R. Rahman’s film compositions. It will be for the first time that a hundred plus film orchestra will perform the compositions of an Indian musician on his home ground!

This endeavour will bring to the fore the elaborate musical orchestration that enhances the impact of a scene in a movie, or the movie as a whole. Artists and choir members from A.R. Rahman’s KM Conservatory will join the orchestra in a multi-city tour.

The tour coincides with the celebration of the centenary year of Studio Babelsberg, the world's oldest film studio in Germany, and Indian Cinema that were incepted in 1912.


When: 29 Jan 2012 (Sunday) | 7:30pm until 10:30pm

Where: Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds.

The Invites are subject to availability and will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis, free of cost from the Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore.
