The 17th national youth festival is being organised jointly by the Union Government, Karnataka Government, Nehru Yuva Kendra and National Service Scheme (NSS). The theme of the festival is ‘diversity in unity'.
A maximum of 100 participants from 28 states and seven Union Territories and five SAARC nations are expected to participate in 18 events during the five days.
The National Youth Awards for 2011 will be presented to 35 persons on the inaugural day on January 12. Added to this, there will be cultural events by the well-known Indian artistes. Adventure sports, beach volleyball and beach throw-ball are the other events during the festival.
While food festival will be held in Karavali Utsav ground, ground sports will be conducted at Nehru Maidan. Water sports events will be held at Panambur beach, while Kadri Park will be the venue for the ‘Yuva Kala Sangama’ programme.
