The UK dance superstars ‘Above & Beyond’ will celebrate the 450th episode of their landmark radio show, ‘Trance Around the World’, with a live concert at the Jayamahal Palace on November 10.
They will be joined by some of the most exciting DJs from across the UK and America, including Mat Zo, Norin & Rad, Andrew Bayer and Jody Wisternoff.

As part of the 31st Varshikotsav 2012, ‘Hindustani Raga Sangeet’ will be presented by Pandit Venkatesh Kumar and Vidushi Girija Devi on November 10, 6 pm.

The rich Bengali traditions of Manipuri Natapala and Panchali make this rendition of the ‘Tempest’ robust.
The director is Nasir Uddin Yusuff. Wanawake Wa Heri Wa Winsa will be presented by ‘The Theatre Company’ on November 10, 7.30 pm and November 11 at 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm. It is based on ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ and set in Nairobi, Kenya.

The British Council is organising a performance called ‘Rising’ by Aakash Odedra at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J C Road on November 8, 7.30 pm. ‘Rising’ will see Aakash perform the solo work of three legendary choreographers, Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Russell Maliphant, as well as new work of his own. Dubbed as the rising new sensation in South Asian Dance, Aakash Odedra is one of the most exciting young contemporary dancers and choreographers in the UK.

Odissi Sandhya, an evening of odissi recital, will be presented by Madhulita Mahapatra and her Nrityantar team at Purandara Bhavana on November 10, 6.30 pm.

Jyotsna Shourie’s Dance Centre is presenting ‘Face To Face’, a dance theatre dialogue in bharatanatyam, at the Khincha Auditorium, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road on November 8, 7 pm. The dancers participating from Jyotsna Shourie’s Dance Centre are Nandita Kalaan, Aneesha Grover, Ishita Matharu and Sana Hasan. ‘Face to Face’ has been conceptualised, written and choreographed by Jyotsna Shourie. Palashpriya Ghosh is presenting an exhibition of her art works, Aagomon, from November 17 to November 23 at Chitrakala Parishat. The exhibition will continue for a duration of seven days. Aagomon is a collection of paintings on canvas and paper, rendered in acrylic and ink. This will be her introductory solo exhibition of the creations over the last five years including the most recent ones.

Tasveer is presenting an exhibition titled ‘Sebastian Cortés: Pondicherry’ from November 10 to 30. ‘Pondicherry’ is an extended photo essay, which has as its main focus the photographer’s perception and visual interpretation of the city of Pondicherry.
