5 cities of Karnataka are simultaneously hosting the 8th International Children’s Film Festival organized by Chilren’s India. The festival will be held from January 9 – 13, 2013.
With 135 films from across more than 30
countries, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and more exciting.
The competition has been divided into three categories – Competitive,
Country-Focus and Environmental. The five cities that are hosting the
festival are Bengaluru, Mangalore, Hubli, Mysore and Dharwad. For the
first time in the history of the festival, the festival is being held
simultaneously across multiple cities.
Films from South Korea and Netherlands will feature in the Country-Focus section.
There will also be a Children’s Jury
coming down from various participating countries who will get to hone
their skills to become future film critics.
The organizers Children’s India is a
non-profit organization that was established in 2005. Its main focus is
producing creative and interesting programmes for children.

Apart from this, a walkathon has been planned from Basaveshwara Circle to Freedom Park on Wednesday.
