This is a story of a cosmopolitan child exposed to every form of music and finally discovering the roots of all the musical forms through Raagas.

Raaga is a musical theme created by a specific set of notes to bring out mood, season, and time. A unique concert of classical and semi-classical styles, Raagas Everywhere, was held at Bangalore International Centre recently to make people understand the importance of raagas in our daily lives and how they have become an intrinsic part of every genre of music.

It was a different kind of experience with Western and Hindustani classical, Bollywood, Sufi, Folk and many other musical forms reverberating all across the venue and enthralling the music lovers.
Explaining the concept of raagas through the art of story telling, music lover and creative writer Veena Prasad who narrated this concept beautifully, spun the story of a boy and a girl in love with each other and discovering raagas everywhere.

Bolava Vitthal

On the eve of Ashadi Ekadashi Pancham Nishad presents “Bolava Vitthal” a unique concert of #abhangs and devotional songs dedicated to Lord Panduranga. From the 12th to 19th century, many great saints including Sant Dyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram, Sant Gora Kumbhar, and Sant Janabai penned many abhangs devoted to Lord Panduranga.

#BolavaVitthal was initiated with the objective of giving a rare opportunity to music lovers and devotees to listen to maestros singing praise of Lord Vitthal. The concert is not only for devotees of Lord Vitthal, but also for all music lovers. The tunes and classical finesse promises a resplendent evening.
Due to the growing demand, Pancham Nishad is holding an 8 city tour of “Bolava Vitthal” at Delhi, Kolkata, Nashik, Mumbai, Kalyan, Bangalore, Nagpur & Goa. The concert tour is scheduled to be held between the 4th of July, 2014 to the 13th of July 2014.

Eminent artistes like Devaki Pandit, Rahul Deshpande, Ranjani & Gayatri, Jayateerth Mevundi, Kaushiki Chakraborthy and Sanjeev Abhyankar would be featured at the concert tour.

For the past eight years, Bolava Vitthal has received tremendous response from the music lovers. In these years, music stalwarts like Ganasarwasti Kishori Amonkar, Ajit Kumar Kadkade, Shankar Mahadeva, Aarti Ankalikar-Tikekar, Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, Upendra Bhatt, Devaki Pandit, Shaunak Abhisheki and Jayateerth Mevundi have performed on this platform.

The man behind organising this unique music festival is Shashi Vyas, son of Padmabhushan Late Pandit C R Vyas said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce this eight city tour. The Indian devotional music is broadly divided into two parts Sagun and Nirgun and abhang is a fine blend of both. “Bolava Vitthal” is an effort to bring the youth of India closer to our traditional values and philosophy of life visualized by the many saint poets like Namdeo, Tukaram, Dyneshwar and Bahinabai.”
