27th Annual Holiday Carnival & Craft Fair
Before the December Nights event unfolds, a holiday carnival and craft fair will be happening at Balboa Park. Challenge your skills with over 30 activity game booths and a selection of prizes, enjoy fun rides, and browse through lots of homemade crafts. And yes! Get a photo of you with Santa!

Little Italy Holiday Tree Lighting & Village

Little Italy is decorated into a Holiday Village where you can come for some friendly hometown shopping. Unique gift items, light refreshments, holiday musicians, and the lighting of a Christmas Tree are there to add a sparkle to the evening. Stores will be open longer for late night shoppers.

Del Mar Holiday Wonderland
Is a festive community event that brings residents, visitors and kids of all ages together to celebrate the holiday season. Holiday entertainment and activities encompass the entire downtown area and include tasty samples from over 20 local restaurants, a horse and carriage rides, live music, a visit from Santa, a fun zone, arts and crafts and the famous cake walk. - www.delmarmainstreet.com

52nd Annual La Jolla Christmas Parade
A wonderful holiday parade lures locals out of the hills and from the beaches to La Jolla to watch a homespun parade. Listen to the music and see marching bands, drill teams, scout troops, floats, dogs, horses, and more. This event is in conjunction with the "La Jolla Holiday Festival".

27th Annual La Jolla Holiday Festival
A wonderful holiday festival lures locals out of the hills and from the beaches to mingle about and enjoy a day of musical performances, tasty food, and a gorgeous tree lighting ceremony. This event is in conjunction with the "La Jolla Christmas Parade".

San Diego Events #3 Balboa Park December Nights

Balboa Park December Nights is a popular, park-wide Christmas celebration featuring sparkling lights, color and music with traditional celebrations and holiday-themed entertainment areas. In the spirit of the holidays, participating Balboa Park museums open their doors free of charge from 5 to 9 p.m.

Entertainment and holiday cheer are all part of this classic San Diego celebration-including food from around the globe at the International Christmas Festival at the House of Pacific Relations Cottages; unique gift shopping at the museum stores and with the artisans of Spanish Village; international choirs, musical and dance presentations from the San Diego Junior Theatre, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet and others.

Holiday of Lights at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is a spectacular drive-through light show and exhibit, themed for the holiday season, with more than 400 crowd-pleasing, family-oriented displays. The displays are organized into themes, which include: Candy Cane Lane, Toyland, San Diego County Fair, Treasures by the Lake, Del Mar Racetrack, the Twelve Days of Christmas and Elves at Play - www.sdfair.com

Garden of Lights at the San Diego Botanic Garden. The Garden is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland with over 100,000 sparkling lights illuminating the Garden for a magical holiday experience. Many of these lights are LED, which are much brighter than regular lights. Adding to the sparkle is the "Poinsettia Garden," festively decorated with many varieties of poinsettias. Numerous activities include horse-drawn-wagon rides, holiday crafts, marshmallow roasting, visits with Santa, live music, and refreshments. Support the Food Drives

Many local organizations including companies, schools and stores are organizing food drives to feed the hungry during the upcoming Holiday Season.

Its a simple yet satisfying way to support the community.

Look: For posters at your local Stores/Gym/School/Work Place or even mail room for info on local Food Drives.
Raid: Your Pantry for unused non-perishable canned/boxed items which have not expired
Collect: These items and stow them in a bag/tray
Drop off: At the location/bins on the date(s) indicated on the poster.

Personal Experience:
The Poway Unified School District is running a food drive through their schools-
the students are encouraged to drop off items in their classrooms.
A humble way to make the young minds aware of the needy and cultivate the sense of caring.
