Sari splendour On the occasion
of Deepavali, Usha Sridhar, the Chennai-based designer, is organising
an exhibition-cum-sale of designer saris at Canara Union, 42, 13th
Cross, 8th Main, Malleswaram from
October 24 to 27. It will have rich
kancheepuram silks in checks, stripes, circular and vertical woven
designs. The traditional silk sari has been given a contemporary spin
that goes down well with youngsters. Another special aspect of the
collection is the fusing of rasipuram light weight silk with heavy
kanchi silk. The exhibition will also have plain, block-printed kanchi,
rasipuram and tusser silk in pastel shades among others.
ART‘Radha Raman’Ritu Gupta’s solo exhibition Radha Raman will be on at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat till October 26.
‘3 View’‘3
View’, an amalgamation of art works of three artists – Buwa Shete, Om
Swami and Mohammad Osman – will be on display from October 25 to
November 15 (10 am to 6 pm) at Gallery-g, Lavelle Road.
Creative works‘Art
with Heart’, an exhibition and sale of works as seen through the eyes
of two artists — photographer CR Sathyanarayana and emerging talent
Yashas Vishwanath — will be held on October 25, 26 and 27 at Alliance
Francaise.
While one uses his camera to create evocative pictures, the other wields a brush to re-create the photographs in oil paint.
This is being done in aid of the construction of the Rotary Orchards Senior Citizens’ Home.

the occasion of its first anniversary, Garage Jam brings a musically
power-packed evening as they line up bands from the City to pay tribute

by WeMove’s Anirudh Mahesh and Ranjan S, the play has music tracks of
Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar. The play has been directed after a
seven-week training programme.
DANCE‘Nrithya Sambrama’As
part of Nrithya Sambrama, a sampradaya series of performances will be
presented by Sanjay Shantharam and members of Shivapriya School of Dance
on
October 27, 6 pm at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram.
The programme is based on Kannada compositions from the CDs brought out by Ananya.
The
